Dr Nadezhda Kurukulasuriya

Nadezhda completed a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree at the University of Sydney, where she achieved First Class Honours in Psychology. She then completed a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a Master of Science at the University of Sydney. Her thesis explored factors associated with young children’s ability to understand emotions in social and school situations.
Nadezhda is committed to using evidence-based treatments with adults and children, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Systemic and Structural Based Family Therapy. She works collaboratively with children, families and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including; anxiety disorders (such as social anxiety, panic attacks, panic disorder, generalised anxiety, selective mutism and specific phobias); depression and mood disorders; and relationship issues. She also works with children and families experiencing childhood behavioural difficulties, sleeping problems, self-esteem and social skills difficulties, separation anxiety, adjustment difficulties and parent-child relationship issues.
Nadezhda is a registered psychologist and holds endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (Reg. # PSY0001359556). She is also a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
